The first fortnightly halaqa, under the banner of Minhaj Muslim Generation (MMG) was held in Minhaj-ul-Quran International London on August 5th, 2022. The event brought youth across Greater London and various parts of the United Kingdom to commemorate the shahāda of Imām al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام).

The keynote address was delivered by Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri, who soulfully spoke about the importance of the love and reverence to the fragrant household of the Holy Prophetﷺ. Through his engaging and passionate discourse, he emphasised how the love of the Holy Prophet’s ﷺ household is the essence and core of a believer’s faith.

Among the many important points raised, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri eloquently explained the meaning of the Qur’anic verse of [33:33]. He said that Allah the Almighty only wishes one thing for the noble household of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and that is to keep them away and keep them purified from all errors, faults, defects shortcomings and imperfections. By increasing their ranks, He has made them a source of purification, so that whosoever loves and follows them will also be spiritually purified. Through our love for those who purify, Allah will purify us from errors.

An important point throughout Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri’s address was that the sign of faith is to remain loyal to the Ahl al-Bayt (عليهم السلام). The love, reverence, and loyalty towards the Ahl al-Bayt is the defining distinction between truth and falsehood. Those who cannot withstand Imām al-Ḥusayn’s (عليه السلام) stand for justice and rule of law in Karbala; who cannot bare to commemorate this tragedy; then that only highlights their hypocrisy (nifāq). Hypocrisy is characterised by disloyalty.

A special performance was held by Minhaj al-Munshidin who recited in the praise of the Beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The program ended on spiritual remembrance and congregational ḥaḍra. At the end, all participants prayed Isha-prayer behind Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa al-Arabi al-Qadri.

Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa Al-Arabi Al-Qadri, Allama Sadiq Qureshi Al Azhari, Abu Adam Ahmad Al-Shiraazi, Sayyid Ali Abbas Bukhari, Nad-e-Ali, Basir Ahmad, Senior members and designators were also present on the occasion.
