Women urged to follow the Sunna of the Prophet (SAW)

Under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International & Minhaj Women League Oldham, a Mawlid-un-Nabi gathering was arranged on Sunday 11th December 2016 at Bilal Mosque in Clarksfield. Many women, sisters and children participated.

The programme commenced with the recitation from the verses of the Holy Quran by Sister Farzana Qadri (MWL Oldham, Dawah Secretary) and Hamd by Sister Basma Qadri. Qaseeda Burda Sharif was read by all the sisters present in unison. Sister Tania (MWL Oldham, Media Secretary) and sister Sobia (MWL Oldham, General Secretary) were the moderators of the programme and were the driving forces behind the nasheed reciters and other participants of the programme.

The special guest speaker was Sister Sumaiyyah Murtaza (MWL London, South Zone, London). All the ladies who attended the mehfil recited heart touching naats in Urdu and Punjabi. Sister Basma Qadri and sister Farzana read heart touching naats. Wazaif were recited by all the sisters present in the mehfil following Sister Farzana Qadri.

Sister Sumaiyyah Murtaza delivered a comprehensive speech about the reality of Mawlid. She informed the attendees that our blessed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has celebrated the birth of Prophet Musa (AS) so why should we not celebrate the birth of our most beloved Prophet (PBUH).

She explained that there are two ways of doing zikr-e-Rasool (ﷺ), (1) Mawlid-un-Nabi (ﷺ) and (2) Seerat-un-Nabi (ﷺ). She explained this in more detail. In a mehfil where zikr is based on Seerat-un-Nabi (ﷺ) the main topic is about the life of our blessed Prophet (PBUH); such mehfils guide us how to follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). In a mehfil where zikr is based on Milaad-un-Nabi (ﷺ) the topic of discussion is the blessed birth of our Holy Prophet (PBUH). She captivated the audience with her powerful and articulate speech. She explained the virtues of the Ahl-e-Bayt and importance of love of Ahl-e-Bayt. She also pointed out the efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Her speech moved the audience to tears and filled their hearts with the love of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

There was a stall set up consisting of Literature, Books, Calendars, Qurans in English and CD's of Shaykh-ul-Islam in which women showed an immense interest. Sisters were encouraged to become members of Minhaj-ul-Quran.

Sister Samina Qadri (MWL Oldham, President) also presented CD's of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri speeches as a Mawlid gift to all the sisters who attended.

Sister Farzana Qadri concluded the event with Salam and Dua was done by Sister Sumaiyyah Murtaza. At the end of the event food was served to all the guests. Once again the event ended leaving behind sweet memories which will kept for a long time.
