Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri delivered a keynote address at the Minhaj European Council Workshop on “The Philosophy of Da’wah Through the Prophetic Sīra and the Vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam”, attended by around 450 participants from across Europe and UK. The programme was professionally hosted by Dr Tasneem Sadiq, Director of Minhaj Learning & Development (Europe).

In his comprehensive lecture, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Qadri outlined the collective and individual responsibility of Da’wah, emphasising that every believer holds a share in conveying the message of Islam according to their ability. Drawing upon the detailed stages of the Makkan and Madinan periods, he highlighted how the Prophetic method evolved with changing circumstances, ranging from quiet invitation and strategic restraint to institution-building, outreach, diplomacy, and measured compromise.

Key principles were brought to life through case studies: adapting one’s approach in times of vulnerability, expanding circles of influence when conditions allow, maintaining unity and survival during periods of hardship, engaging with other communities through shared values, strengthening internal structures before external outreach, and embracing flexibility for long-term success. Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Qadri also reminded attendees that motivation and responsibility within a mission must be distributed with wisdom, following the Prophetic example.

The workshop also included a series of supporting sessions, beginning with an exploration of the essence of Da’wah by Bilal Uppal, followed by a strategic PR framework presented by Dr Hamza Ansari, and concluding with guidance from Umar Mirza on identifying and prioritising impactful stakeholders. Together, these sessions provided practical insights that complemented the keynote and enriched the learning experience for participants.
