He ﷺ established the first-ever principles and ethics of warfare on earth Solution to extremism lies in the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ, says address at the “Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ and Global Peace Conference” in Lisbon, Portugal

Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, while addressing the “Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ and Global Peace Conference” held at the Islamic Center Portugal (Lisbon), stated that the world must study the blessed Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ to achieve global peace.
He said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ established, for the first time in human history, the principles and ethical standards of warfare. He added that no conqueror in history has ever presented an example comparable to the general amnesty granted at the time of the Conquest of Makkah.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized that Allah Almighty did not create human beings merely for material advancement, but for attaining spiritual and moral excellence. He stated that safeguarding the earth from corruption and transforming it into a haven of peace and justice is a responsibility upon every inhabitant of this planet.
He further remarked that no religion—whether revealed or non-revealed—permits the killing of innocent people or endorses oppression and injustice. On the Day of Judgment, he said, humanity will be held accountable for the waste, misuse, and unjust destruction of the resources, produce, and blessings of the earth.
He added that Islam categorically rejected the practices of bloodshed, violent warfare, the exploitation of the weak, and their forced enslavement. Islam, he said, provides comprehensive protection of every individual’s religious, national, familial, political, and social identity, along with a balanced framework of rights and responsibilities.
He concluded by stressing that today’s world urgently needs values such as tolerance and moderation, and that human life is extremely precious and must be respected and protected.
The conference was attended by Chairman Supreme Council Minhaj-ul-Quran International Professor Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President Minhaj European Council Bilal Uppal, Patron Minhaj-ul-Quran Portugal Muhammad Sagheer, President Minhaj-ul-Quran Portugal Kashif Nazir, along with prominent personalities, intellectuals, and community representatives from various walks of life. The participation of Sikh community leaders and officials and members of the Islamic Center Lisbon also reflected a practical demonstration of interfaith harmony and brotherhood.
